As we move into the summer season, Avia Condos is beginning to make its mark in Parkside Village. Located just west of Square One Shopping Centre in Mississauga, Avia has hit a construction milestone as it stands well above grade with three cranes at work on the site.
Back in September after the completion of the underground garage the building had just reached grade. Additionally, the west end of the site had just reached the first level of the five-storey podium.
As of today, construction on the majority of podium levels has reached a height of two levels, while at the northwest corner our team is working on the fourth level. Two residential towers will rise to 38 and 50 storeys from the top of the fifth podium level, in the northwest and southeast corners. The podium will eventually be clad in red brick, and will feature retail at ground level.
Currently columns are being formed for the fourth level, with rebar sticking out of their tops, ready to be tied into the next level of column above. Once we pour tht fifth level slab in this corner, we can begin to work on the tower levels.
After completion, we will have developed a place that feels like home with a future of blue skies ahead. The dual tower building designed with the help of Turner Fleischer Architects introduces an elevated lifestyle to the vibrant neighbourhood of Parkside Village. From the industrial brickwork of the podium levels to the elegantly angled glass tower rising above, Avia will bring an iconic dual addition to the Mississauga skyline.
Avia at Parkside Village will house a total of 1,056 residential units, and be within walking distance to many local amenities including Square One Shopping Centre, Mississauga Celebration Square and City Hall, and will have close access to local MiWay and regional GO Transit buses, and Highway 403.
